Drawing the Future: Revolutionizing Vocational Education with Digital Innovation
Welcome to the Drawing4VET Project! Our aim is to improve vocational education by integrating digital tools like AR/VR into technical drawing courses. The project focuses on enhancing students’ visualization skills and reducing errors in manufacturing processes. By collaborating with international institutions, we aim to create a sustainable and inclusive educational environment.

Drawing4VET
The Drawing4VET project is designed to support the digital transformation of technical drawing education in vocational training. The project aims to improve the visualization skills of vocational education students by incorporating digital tools like AR and VR, reducing errors in manufacturing processes. Technical drawing is a critical skill for engineering, design, and manufacturing, and ensuring students’ proficiency in this area is essential for achieving higher quality and sustainability in production.
The project brings together partners from countries such as Turkey, Germany, Austria, and Hungary, including universities, vocational training institutions, and industry leaders. Through this collaboration, an innovative and accessible curriculum that meets industry needs is being developed. Furthermore, the educational content will be adapted using plain language to make it more accessible for disadvantaged groups, including individuals with hearing impairments.
Objectives
The Drawing4VET aims to enhance vocational education in technical drawing by leveraging digital tools and innovative teaching methods.
- Improve Product Quality and Reduce Scrap Rates in Manufacturing:
One of the primary goals is to contribute to green manufacturing by minimizing scrap rates and time losses in production processes. Well-trained vocational education graduates will help reduce production errors, leading to a more efficient production chain. This will not only improve quality but also ensure better resource efficiency, contributing to environmental sustainability. - Enhance Visualization Skills Using Digital Tools:
One of the most significant challenges students face in technical drawing courses is the ability to mentally visualize three-dimensional objects and represent them accurately. By developing AR/VR-supported content, the project will help students overcome these challenges and improve their multi-dimensional thinking skills, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. - Develop Accessible Educational Content Using Plain Language:
The project will ensure that the curriculum is accessible to disadvantaged groups by using plain language, making the content easier to understand for all learners, including those with hearing impairments. This approach aims to provide equal opportunities for students from all backgrounds, enhancing their employability and success in the workplace. - Strengthen the Link Between Education and Industry Expectations:
To keep up with the rapidly evolving demands of the industry, vocational education curricula must be updated regularly. Drawing4VET aims to strengthen the connection between educational institutions and the needs of the labor market, ensuring that graduates are better equipped to meet industry expectations. The project will also help students build confidence in their technical skills, preparing them for success in the workplace. - Develop and Test Innovative Educational Curricula:
The curricula developed through the project will be based on industry requirements, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of technical drawing. These curricula will be supported by digital tools and will undergo rigorous testing and evaluation to ensure their effectiveness. The results of these tests will guide further improvements to the educational content, ensuring that it meets the needs of both students and industry professionals.

Key results of the Drawing4VET project include:
- A comprehensive study report on industrial needs and human-induced errors.
- AR/VR-based training packs in multiple languages, including sign language adaptation.
- Accessible course content for disadvantaged groups, particularly for the hearing-impaired.
- A significant reduction in manufacturing scrap and rework rates through improved training.
- Scientific publications and widespread dissemination of project outcomes.
